What to expect

  • Purpose-Built Workbooks: Every lesson combines mentor-taught knowledge with targeted questions that allow students to immediately apply and consolidate what they have learned.
  • Research and Investigation: Lessons will include mini depth studies to support students in their own depth studies at school while developing their skills for higher levels of research.
  • Dedicated Support: Each lesson will have time dedicated at the end of the lesson for students to ask questions about anything they need support with – we are here to help your child grow in all aspects of life, not just academics.
  • Regular Practice Exams: Practice exams that reflect preliminary and HSC assessments run regularly to assess knowledge and identify areas for improvement allowing mentors and students to work together and develop strategies to better support students in their learning.
  • Learn One Term Ahead: Classes are run one term ahead to provide students with more time to practise applying their understanding. Rather than rushing through content just before an assessment, students have the opportunity to learn, practise, identify weaknesses, refine, and master content. This early exposure helps students develop the scientific fluency, accuracy and speed needed to tackle challenging Band 6 level questions with confidence.

Why is it beneficial?
Biology is about understanding the complex interactions between living systems around us and within us. At Sypher Space, we teach students to look beyond individual facts so that they learn to piece together connections between biological concepts by interpreting evidence and applying their understanding to unfamiliar situations. By developing scientific reasoning and encouraging students to ask not just what happens, but why and how, we build a deeper understanding and confidence in biology alongside stronger problem-solving skills that students can carry with them throughout their education and beyond.
